However, I have been working hard for my goal, doing my best to train. To become a professional basketball player and stand on the stage of CBA to improve himself and show himself is Chen Xiaoxiao’s dream in his heart. Before the opening of the CBA draft conference in 2023, no one knew whether Chen Xiaoxiao could succeed in job hunting, including himself. But no matter success or failure, he has set foot on dreamway, hasn’t he? Just like Yao Ming, the former NBA champion show, said in the summer four years ago: “The CBA draft conference is just a comma, not a period for draft players.”

Last summer, in the Second Battle of the North District group match of the Chinese college basketball league, we lost the chance to advance to the elimination match by two points. Until now, I still clearly remember those moments in the match and the scenes after the match. My mood is very depressed, and my teammates are all very depressed. But that result is not unacceptable to us. That year, we won a tight encirclement in the grassroots competition and entered the national competition. In the whole process, everyone made all efforts. Shandong University is not a traditional strong team in the Chinese college basketball league. We didn’t have a particularly good record before, but all the team members have been working hard and moving up step by step-in this process, there are some problems and setbacks. Although I feel very sorry, it is acceptable…… It was also at that time that I came up with the idea of participating in the CBA draft. I have been in contact with basketball since primary school. At that time, I thought very simply, that is, I hope to play basketball and grow long. Since then, I have never put down basketball. I entered the secondary school of Mountain Division in high school and was admitted to Shandong University. From primary school to university, every coach who brought me helped me a lot, helping me improve my basketball skills and consciousness at that stage. With the passage of time, I really fell in love with basketball and hoped to become a professional player in the future.
Generally speaking, the original intention of participating in the draft is to realize your basketball dream. I really want to show myself on a higher platform and challenge myself. Because if you have the opportunity to enter the CBA alliance, you will definitely have the opportunity to polish your skills and continue to improve. In the past few years, more and more college students have entered CBA, such as Wang Lan, Yuan Tangwen and Li Yiyang. They have found their own positions in CBA through unremitting efforts. Their experience is also an encouragement to me.
In my opinion, there is indeed a gap between our college student players and professional team youth training players. Because we have to give consideration to our studies, we are much behind in our training time. Their training intensity and competition opportunities are also better than ours. Therefore, if we can enter CBA, college students will definitely need to make more efforts and practice harder to get opportunities. Personally, I need to work hard to improve my physical confrontation ability to adapt to the confrontation intensity of CBA. In addition, I also need to learn from the veterans in the team in dealing with the ball.
This summer, I have been insisting on training, and the agent is also helping to contact the team. When I have the chance, I will go to the team for trial training. Before, it was impossible to watch the students around me busy submitting resumes and attending interviews, saying that they were not panic at all. But I have been working hard for my goal, training with all my strength. Ma kept participating in the trial training, hoping to prepare for the draft conference. For me, this kind of experience is not easy-I can’t relax at all, go to the city where the Test team is located by high-speed rail or plane, and then go to a completely strange environment, fight against the players and try to show their best. The preparation I made was somewhat similar to the previous experience when Zeng fanbo hit NBA. Because I am different from the popular players in the draft conference, being selected by the CBA team is not a perfect thing, so I still have to fight hard, get enough, and try constantly, to challenge your limits.
Every graduate has deep feelings for his alma mater, and so do I. When I left, I really had a lot to give up. In the four years of college, every time I played in a jersey with the four words of Shandong University, my teammates and I went all out without reservation to win glory for our alma mater. I also hope that in the days to come, Shan DA will be proud of himself. Like all the graduates before the interview, I am excited and uneasy now. I can’t predict how my mood will be when the draft convention ends.
