Celebrity Keith Smith interviewed some of the team’s executives during the summer league. During the dialogue with Sun executives, the latter talked about Ayton.
The executive said: “We promise to DeAndre (Elton). He will play an important role in our defense line this season. We will make sure that he gets enough touch (opportunities) on the offensive end and let him also participate in the attack, instead of just covering and attacking backboards to make a living.”
In the 2022-23 season, Alton played 67 games in the regular season, averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds and 1.7 assists; In the playoffs, Alton played 10 times, averaging 13.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1 assist.
